Prof. Chee-Wooi Ten
Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Michigan Tech
Ensuring system reliability and resilience has been a national priority, especially in this unprecedented time of complexity. These challenges open up limitless interdisciplinary opportunities, with emerging platforms encouraging transdisciplinary research to improve systems resilience. Professor Ten's research interest lies in quantifying rare events using system risk models and data science, particularly focusing on the interactions of power grids with robotics and transportation systems for decarbonization and electrification. His recent research has focused on establishing cyber-informed security engineering strategies, validated against existing steady-state and dynamic approaches of bulk power systems. He earned his degrees from Iowa State University and University College Dublin and has been at Michigan Tech since 2010.
